About the Ship

The Morgan Out Island 41 is one of the most successful cruising sailboats ever built. Designed by Charley Morgan, it was first built in 1971 and produced by Morgan Yachts until 1991, with more than 1,450 completed.

Key characteristics include a 41-foot fiberglass hull with a center cockpit design, typically rigged as a masthead sloop or optional ketch. The boat displaces around 24,000 pounds with about 10,500 pounds of ballast, has a waterline length of 34 feet, and a draft of about 4 feet 2 inches.

It’s designed primarily as a comfortable family cruiser rather than a performance boat. Accommodations typically include sleeping for seven people with a double V-berth in the bow, an L-shaped settee in the main cabin, and an aft cabin.
